You are probably familiar with the seven-chakra system of the human body. However, there are actually many more chakras.

This article explains what the 12 chakras are, where they are located in the body, and how you can begin to use their power to expand your consciousness, increase confidence, health, and abundance.

In fact, before the root chakra, at a so-called 0-level, there is another one: the Earth Star Chakra.

The 12-chakra system is briefly as follows:

So, in addition to the familiar 7 chakras, we learn about 6 more (13 chakras in total).

Before we move on to the 12 chakras, let's cover the basics.

WHAT IS A CHAKRA? A chakra is an energy center in the body. Different chakras correspond to different parts of the body and perform various functions.

In Sanskrit, chakra means wheel. These wheels are responsible for transmitting energy through our bodies.

When our chakras are open and balanced, we feel healthy, fresh, and capable.

But what if they are out of balance?

Ideally, your chakras should be free from blockages or stagnant energy. Why? Because if our chakras are blocked or out of balance, our physical, mental, and emotional health is also out of balance. Chakras invisibly guide the functioning of our body and energy bodies.

THE 12-CHAKRA SYSTEM The 12 chakras include the seven chakras most of us know. But they also include some additional chakras located outside the physical body.

Here are their locations in the body and the functions they are responsible for:

0. EARTH STAR CHAKRA While the widely known seven-chakra system consists of chakras inside the body, the Earth Star Chakra is actually located half a meter below your feet. It is a projection of our energy system outside the body. The Earth Star Chakra is responsible for our connection to the earth, similar to the root chakra. The Earth Star Chakra is strongly connected to our physical well-being and can only be activated through meditation.

The Earth Star Chakra is our connection to the Earth's Life Force and the crystal core in the center of the Earth. As you might experience, the Light of the Supreme Creator also exists inside the Earth. Therefore, start the meditation by sending a grounding cord from your abdomen to the core of the Earth. Grounding allows you to more easily experience a higher dimension of consciousness while activating the remaining energy vortices outside your physical form.

1. ROOT CHAKRA Located at the base of the spine, the root chakra is responsible for feelings of grounding and security. When balanced, we feel safe, energetic, and stable.
2. SACRAL CHAKRA This chakra is located along the spine at our navel point. The sacral chakra is responsible for feelings of pleasure, desire, and passion. It promotes creativity, joy, and teaches letting go.
3. SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA The solar plexus is located between our sacral and heart chakras. It is responsible for self-confidence, courage, and is the root of personal power. In fact, it is an ENERGY STOREHOUSE that absorbs whatever it comes into contact with, whether it's positive, healing energy or anxious, stress-inducing energy.
4. HEART CHAKRA The heart chakra, located in the center of our chest, is the meeting point of the physical and spiritual.

The heart chakra helps create social connections, empathy, emotional healing, and human connectivity.

5. THROAT CHAKRA The name itself suggests its nature. The throat chakra is located in the throat. It is the center of all communication.

It is responsible for self-expression, honesty, faith, and artistic expression.

6. THIRD EYE CHAKRA This chakra is located in the center of our forehead, right between the eyes. The third eye chakra is the root of our psychic energy. This chakra extends beyond the physical, helping you access your innate perception and clairvoyant abilities.
7. CROWN CHAKRA The crown chakra can be found at the top of our head. This chakra is the gateway to the spiritual. It helps develop hopes, dreams, spiritual core, and connection to the universe at large. It is believed that ancient mystics and seers achieved enlightenment by opening their crown chakra.
8. SOUL STAR CHAKRA The soul star chakra is located just above the head, six inches from the crown chakra. Also known as the aura or "soul place," it allows higher energies to move into your body and through your other chakras.

It is fuchsia in color and instead of a rotating circle, it is shaped like a star or lotus, vibrating at a very high frequency. The Sanskrit name for the 8th chakra is “Sahasrara,” which means “1000 petals,” and it is indeed shaped like a lotus flower.

The soul star loves to associate, live, and act through the fourth chakra (Heart Center) and the eighth chakra (Soul Star Chakra), through balance, compassion, and a sense of love and expansiveness, and a perception of impersonal reality. It is the door between your immortal soul and your physically anchored personality and represents the last part of the physical body before our ascension.

This chakra is often called a circulating force, an energetic shell force that surrounds all other chakras. If the 8th chakra is strong, it filters out negative energy that comes into contact with you. If it is weak, you are vulnerable.

When this chakra is opened and activated, the Light of the Creators can flow through this energy vortex above our head. As the light force flows freely, it allows us access to higher states of consciousness. In the soul star chakra, we experience the highest love of the divine source and ascended masters. These frequencies can inspire the Love of our Higher Self, enabling us to experience heightened awareness and our ultimate powers as spiritual beings.

Our soul star chakras are the vessel of our soul's energy and contain the essence and power of the soul experiences accumulated during our lifetime. If we manage to dwell in this area of the eighth chakra through meditation, we can experience more of our soul's abilities. At the same time, we connect with Ascended Masters who are aligned with our mission here on earth.

When fully activated, opened, and as a result of our complete soul realization and dedication, access to the Akashic records data opens through the soul star chakra.

9. SPIRIT CHAKRA The spirit chakra is the vortex of energy and spirit that we received for this life. When our Spirit's energy and vibration vortex is open and activated, it allows us to connect with our spirit's potential powers. We can connect with the infinite spirit realm. Here in the Spirit Chakra, we also perceive and establish our direct connection to the Source. Therefore, we can communicate with beings of light throughout the galaxy: angels, guides, and star beings.

When this energy center is open and activated, we fully surrender to the Flow of our Spirit. We let the divine Source flow and guide our experiences. This chakra is the gateway to access the gifts and abilities of our spirit in full. We can also freely share them with the whole world.

Our direct connection to the Source allows us to experience, realize, and rely on our abilities to create and manifest through our spirit.

10. UNIVERSAL CHAKRA As the name suggests, the universal aspect of our being is located in the 10th chakra. This energy vortex is located about 1 meter above the head. The universal chakra is responsible for connecting you to the universal energy flow. Through this chakra, you can develop powerful healing and psychic abilities.

Through the universal chakra, we are connected and become part of the infinite flow of all creation. When activated, the universal chakra allows us to feel deeply aligned with the universe and all that exists. We are one with it. We can develop a connection with divine beings of light in the universe. Additionally, in this form, here on earth, we can unite and align with our divine light body.

When the universal chakra is fully open, it allows us to construct our "Merkaba" light body, enabling us to travel in higher spiritual realms. Through the universal chakra, we experience divine healing balance and complete access to the divinity of our spirit.

11. GALACTIC CHAKRA This chakra, also known as the "prophecy channel," is located above the universal chakra. It allows communication with higher beings. It is associated with a higher level of developing spiritual skills, including manifestation and energy healing.

Our galactic energy vortex is about 1.2 meters above the head. When this energy center is fully open and activated, it allows higher spiritual abilities to develop.

Part of this includes traveling beyond the boundaries of time and space, teleportation, instantaneous manifestation, and much more.

Here, we can reach anywhere in the realms of Creation and communicate with beings of light from higher dimensions and Ascended Masters. Through this chakra, we can bring higher healing, insights, and growth from the galactic realm into our current existence.

When activated, our galactic chakra can bring balance to many people. Everyone around us, including Mother Earth and the highest spiritual realms, can benefit from our frequency and vibration.

12. DIVINE GATEWAY CHAKRA The Divine Gateway Chakra is located above the galactic chakra, at the top of your chakra system. It contributes to complete spiritual ascension and enlightenment. When this chakra is activated, your communication with the energies beyond flows freely and unhindered. A gateway to explore distant worlds opens.
